February 9, 2020 - Jason Rauen Begins Florida Speedweeks at East Bay Raceway Park
1On Wednesday evening Jason Rauen made the trek to East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Florida) for the 44th annual Wrisco Winternationals. In a stout field of 65 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Jason followed up the 16th fastest time in his qualifying group with a 6th place finish in his heat. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the $7,000-to-win A-Main, Rauen recorded a 4th place finish. Earning a spot into the Berry Barn Strawberry Dash for one final shot at the feature, Jason Rauen slipped back to a 10th place outing. (Heath Lawson photos)

The following night, Rauen laid down the fourth fastest lap in his time trial group before making contact with the wall in his heat while battling for the lead with Brandon Overton. He ended up scratching from his B-Main after sustaining too much damage in his heat.

Friday night saw Brian Birkhofer hop behind the wheel of the Rauen Precision Manufacturing No. 15B Late Model for the fifth round of the Wrisco Winternationals. Following the eighth fastest lap in his time trial group, Birkhofer scored a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Jonathan Davenport which positioned him 11th on the starting grid for the $12,000-to-win A-Main. He slipped back to a 26th place outing in the 50-lap affair.

1For the final round of the 44th annual Wrisco Winternationals on Saturday, Brian came in 6th in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Needing to place in the Top 2, Birkhofer landed a 3rd place finish, giving him one final shot at the finale with the Berry Barn Strawberry Dash. Sending the Top 2 into the show, Brian Birkhofer recorded a 6th place finish.

On Sunday afternoon Birkhofer stopped at All-Tech Raceway (Lake City, Florida) for the $10,000-to-win Winter Nationals. Drawing 34 LOLMDS entries, Brian fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a 5th place finish. Transferring into the B-Main for one final shot at the show, Birkhofer came one spot short of transferring with a 4th place finish.
